Populus Launches Platform with Stockholm to Manage Shared Mobility

Stockholm will leverage Populus Mobility Manager, which empowers cities to efficiently manage electric bike, moped, carsharing, and other shared mobility services through access to better data.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA November 16, 2023Populus, the global-leader for cities to manage transportation and mobility services, today announces a new partnership with Stockholm, to provide its robust mobility management platform to manage their e-scooter program. Stockholm City Transport Authority joins more than 100 cities around the world leveraging the Populus platform to securely receive data from shared mobility operators and to digitally manage new mobility, curb, and street policies.

In an ever-evolving urban environment, Stockholm is dedicated to providing its residents with safe, efficient, and environmentally-friendly transportation options including electric park bikes and other single occupancy vehicles. The implementation of a mobility management system takes a significant step toward not only offering that program, but ensuring that micromobility use is actively managed and complies with the requirements set by the city.

Under the agreement, Populus will provide Stockholm with access to its secure Mobility Manager platform to optimize the city’s transportation networks - reducing traffic congestion, improving air quality, and enhancing the overall quality of life for its residents and visitors. Stockholm will gain the ability to validate operator data, monitor real-time vehicle movements, create, communicate, and track compliance with policies, and analyze how and where electric bikes are being used. The city will also be able to evaluate program performance across multiple metrics, including vehicle utilization, fleet distribution, and accessibility, and leverage trip data to inform infrastructure investment decisions such as bike lanes.

“We are honored to work with Stockholm to make urban mobility more efficient, sustainable, and safe,” said Regina Clewlow, CEO and Co-Founder of Populus. “Our team is committed to helping cities and shared mobility operators partner together to deliver solutions for the future of transportation and we are proud to continue our impact, empowering European cities to harness the potential of data and technology for the benefit of their community members.”
